What are Merchant Bankcard processing services?
American River Bank, Bank of Amador and North Coast Bank’s Merchant Bankcard processing program enables you to receive payment in exchange for the goods and services that you provide to your customers. These payment forms include credit, debit, gift and pre-paid cards.

How long will it take to receive payment for Visa and MasterCard transactions?
Visa and MasterCard sales are processed and transferred via ACH into your business checking account within two business days from the time the daily batch is closed.

How long does it take for a business to be set up so they can start processing payments?
It generally takes only four to five business days from receipt of a completed and approved application for you to be fully operational. If you already own your own equipment and do not need additional training, your equipment can be re-programmed as soon as our processor, Chase Paymentech, has completed their set-up process, generally within three business days.

What payment types are accepted with our Merchant Bankcard Processing Program?
You will be automatically set up to accept Visa and MasterCard. We also offer Discover, American Express, Diners Club, debit cards and Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT). TeleCheck Electronic Check Acceptance Services can be added as well through our partnership with TeleCheck. A TeleCheck representative will facilitate the entire process.

What about additional equipment?
We can usually reprogram most types of terminals to dial into our network. If you do not have point-of-sale equipment (POS) or you have equipment that is non-compliant, we offer many types of POS terminals with very competitive pricing.

What type of equipment is needed?
Since your needs vary, our Merchant Bankcard Representatives will offer assistance in selecting the right terminal or software for your business. We can suggest a full range of equipment and software solutions to fit any business requirements.

How do I receive assistance with terminal, statement, or any other merchant payment processing services?

What is a merchant’s rate?
Through our partnership with our processor, Chase Paymentech, the second largest Merchant Processor in North America, we are able to offer some of the most competitive rates in the marketplace.

Since we customize all merchant rates, three (3) months of merchant statements from your current processor is necessary in order to provide a price quote.

If you have never accepted credit cards, our Merchant Bankcard Representative will need to discuss the various payment processing options and determine your estimated sales volume in order to provide processing rates.

How do I order supplies and how much will they cost?
We offer free supplies at each of our branch locations and through our courier service.

What do I do when my terminal stops working?
The very first call should go to the Chase Paymentech Technical Support Department to troubleshoot the problem and determine whether the situation can be corrected by phone or if the equipment is in need of repair / replacement. Call 1-800-782-1266.

Chase Paymentech can swap out damaged or broken equipment for a fee of $150.00. With this service, you are obligated to return the damaged or broken equipment to Chase Paymentech by mailing back the used equipment in the box that the new equipment was sent in.
