What is Deposit Express?
Deposit Express allows business clients to make deposits directly from the convenience of their own office! When you receive checks from your customers, simply use a provided scanner to capture images of a check for deposit. Your broadband internet connection electronically transmits the images for deposit directly to your business checking account

Who can use Deposit Express?
Any business client can use Deposit Express If your business has the following characteristics, you would be a good candidate for Deposit Express:
  • Low cash receipts
  • High value checks – If you receive large dollar amount checks for deposit you would gain significant benefit from faster clearing and availability times.
  • Remote location – If it is difficult for you to get to a banking office you would benefit from this service.
  • High number of locations – If you have multiple locations you would benefit by having the opportunity to consolidate banking relationships and automate the deposit process.
  • High quantity of checks – If you receive a large volume of checks to deposit you would be a strong candidate for Desktop Deposit.


What equipment is necessary to use Deposit Express?
  • A Bank provided scanner
  • PC with a USB 2.0 port
  • High speed internet connection
  • Clients must have an Active Business checking account with the Bank


What types of checks can be deposited through Deposit Express?
You may scan corporate and consumer checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, treasury checks, and travelers checks as long as these items are drawn on a US Bank in US dollars. You will not be able to deposit foreign checks including any Canadian checks in Canadian dollars and/or noted as payable in US funds. You will need to deposit the item(s) via a branch or by mail.
 

Is it safe to transmit data using Deposit Express?
Yes. Check images are transmitted using a secure, encrypted connection via our Deposit Express web site.
 

What is the process if a check is rejected during the scanning process?
You will receive a reject message during the scan that will require you to remove the item from the batch in order to continue. The item will need to be deposited via a branch or by mail.
 

What is the process if a check is processed more than once through Deposit Express?
You will receive a message to delete the check from the deposit.
 

What do I do with the check once it has been scanned? When do I destroy the check(s)?
Clients are responsible for secure retention of original checks for a minimum of 30 days. Please see the Deposit Express Service Agreement for additional information.
 

Where do I get a copy of a check that was scanned and/ or destroyed after the 30 days?
You have convenient and easy access to an online image archive for all deposits and deposited items for a 24-month period.
 

Can I view a report and/ or historical data on checks deposited?
You will have access to a number of reports on a daily basis and historical data via the Deposit Express web site.
 

Who do I call if I have technical problems or issues surrounding deposits?
Your first call should be to our Central Support Services Center at 1 (800) 544-0545 or (916) 231-6730 who will assist you with your specific issue. You may also contact your local banking office for balance inquiries and bookkeeping type calls.
 

How do I sign up for Deposit Express? Do I need to sign a contract?
Signing up for Deposit Express is easy – simply fill out a brief application as well as read and sign the user agreement. The user agreement requires 30 days notice to terminate use of Deposit Express.Contact your branch of account and/or complete the application and user agreement at a  branch office.
 

What is the pricing for Deposit Express? What is the cost of the scanner?
In order to use Deposit Express, you will need to have an Active Business checking account. Offsetting deposit balances and your overall client relationship will have an impact on the fees you pay.

Deposit Express client with one scanner provided:
  • $75.00 per client set up fee
  • $ 60.00 monthly fee 1st account
Deposit Express clients with multiple scanners:
  • Additional $50.00 per month per additional scanner plus one time fee of $100 per scanner
  • $ 60.00 monthly fee 1st account
  • $ 20.00 monthly fee 2nd and subsequent accounts
There is no sales option for the scanners - scanners are property of the Bank and client must return to us when or if Deposit Express is discontinued.
